Apple
The Apple Keynote 2018 just happened a few days ago.
Being an apple fan, I must watch it and pay attention to it.
What do I feel about?
Let's start.
First of all, I love the Apple Watch Series 4. I personally think it's amazing that it'll be able to do an ECG (Electrocardiogram). That's really cool. It's really for those health lovers to watch over their heart activity. I like that you can get a pdf of it so that you can consult your doctor for more information.
I know the cellular feature for the Apple Watch has been available since last year. However, I just find it upsetting that it's not available in my country and probably would never be available ever. It almost makes me want to move just so I get that feature but unfortunately, I'm unable to.
And then, there's the iPhone.
To be honest, it is disappointing.
There's literally nothing new about the latest iPhone. Yes, the display is bigger and better. Well, duh. You don't call it new if it doesn't atleast have that.
I get that it's probably difficult to create anything new for iPhone because it feels like we have reached a limit to how much your phone can do.
So now, everyone is just all about, better camera, better display and bigger memory space. Nothing technological revolutionary. I understand that.
But I guess, it's obvious that the last keynote is already pointing to Apple being dead. By dead, I mean by being revolutionary in their design and innovation. This latest keynote just confirms it. In regards to the iPhone. Because damn, I think they did a great job with the Apple Watch.
Being an Apple fan, I guess it's disheartening to see that.
Not only that, I found the keynote a bit boring. I get it. Every year, they say this is the most advanced phone or watch or whatever. And I know they have always done it this way. But it's really time for new words and a new presentation style. It's getting a little boring. I still enjoy their story telling but the whole most advanced thing is getting a little stale.
As usual, the Apple keynote always creates a buzz. And Apple haters constantly like to shit on Apple. Fair enough.
But I guess this is where I am a diehard Apple lover I guess. Despite knowing that there's absolutely nothing additional for the latest iPhone, I still want it. Because oh my goodness, yes, it looks absolutely beautiful in the keynote.
But not only that, I absolutely love the ios design. I won't switch from ios to android ever. Unless android is easy to use and looks stunning.
The ios to me, is easy & beautiful.
Yes, I agree that not everyone loves the ios but this is personal preference but I love it.
At the end of the day, despite Apple not doing much, I still love it. I still love ios. I still love the design of the phone. It just looks well made to be honest.
I do admit that if Steve Jobs was around, he may not have liked where Apple have headed but oh well, times do change.
But most of all, Apple is still the king of marketing. They make those products look so desirable. But not only that, they aren't selling you a product. They are selling you funnily enough, values. Like it's 100% renewable energy and the iPhones are recyclable. The ios that usually gets good games first. Privacy first. All of that.
So Apple don't just sell products. It's values and also an ecosystem.
To be honest, I wish I could get a new iPhone but it's totally out of my price point.
Well, these are just my sincere thoughts as an Apple fan.
Call me what you like. I'm camp Apple until Apple have betrayed me in any way.
